Brief Overview And Experience

Lelia Katusiime is the founder of KALNAR Advocates. She is an Advocate of the Courts of Judicature and a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute, United Kingdom. She is a Member of the East Africa and Uganda Law Societies. Ms Katusiime is a Senior Member of the Federation of Uganda Women Lawyers Association (FIDA-U).  She is also a registered Arbitrator at the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Kampala.

She obtained a Master of Laws (Merit) Degree (LL M) from University of London, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) Degree (LL B) from University of Dar es Salaam and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Law Development Centre.

Ms. Katusiime has over 15 years professional experience in Corporate Governance, Corporate Legal Advisory, Regulation of Government sectors, Arbitration, Investigative Ombudsman, Land conveyancing and Transactions and commercial transactions.

She previously worked as a Legal Officer at the Inspectorate of Government. She further worked as Legal Officer at Electricity Regulatory Authority. Ms. Katusiime additionally worked as Head Legal Services at National Drug Authority, and as Director Corporate Services at Uganda Road Fund.

Leila is the founding Partner at KALNAR Advocates.   She is the Assistant Head of Subject of Corporate and Commercial Transactions Department at Law Development Centre, Kampala, as well as a Lecturer of the Law of Business Associations at Cavendish University Uganda.

Lastly, Ms. Katusiime serves as Chairperson of the Mubende National Water Service Centre, a Government of Uganda project supported by Development Partners under the Ministry of Water and Environment.
